In today’s society, an increasing number of young people are appointed as leaders in government departments. Some believe it is not appropriate to do so while others consider young people are capable of taking on important positions in government. From my own perspective, I believe the young generation has all it takes to fulfill their responsibilities in government. 

Young people possess all the qualities required to be good leaders. With open minds and full readiness to accept new things, young leaders, more often than not, bring in new ideas and innovation to government organs, which in many citizens’ minds are featured with authority and yet dullness. Moreover, young people are more likely to be equipped with the latest knowledge and skills needed for improvement of governmental functions. Take China for example. The past two decades have witnessed a sharp increase of students going abroad to study. Many of whom have come back to shoulder responsibilities in many government positions with their knowledge and skills gained from more advanced nations. In addition, young people are physically stronger to fulfill heavy workload in government positions. Public servants, especially those who are appointed as supervisors have more responsibilities to take.  A young and strong physique, naturally, is the pre-requisite to take the positions.

Admittedly, some may argue that older people are more suitable to carry out government roles as they are more experienced to deal with daily work as well as human relations in government. Experience is the best teacher and cannot be replaced by mere knowledge from school, they may claim. However, we can balance the age with experience when deciding a suitable candidate for a specific position. Those middle-aged government officials, for example, can be trusted with more important positions as they are young but not without sufficient experience.

In a nutshell, even though younger people may be lack of experience compared with their senior colleagues, they who are endowed with talent, knowledge and certain experience can still be entrusted with important positions in government.

　　The tendency to copy is shown in the popularity of fashion in clothes and other consumers' goods. To what extend do you agree or disagree?’

As people’s aesthetic demands growing with the development of fashion industry. No issue seems more marvelous than fashion. Fashion has long been an important part in modern life and it is so common in my country for young people to follow some fashion trends in clothes, accessories, mobile phones, and even lifestyles like travelling abroad to enjoy the picturesque and exotic landscape. The most evident example is the apple’s gadgets which are so sought after that fans of the digital giant send their tributes to it in a fanatical way.
 
In the first place, there would be better understanding about this phenomenon if the driving factors are scrutinized. The young generation is always the fashion followers who are eager to win recognition from their community, and the way of achieving that includes looking like a huge celebrity or a successful tycoon. Therefore imitating the clothing style of celebrities becomes sought after. This tendency is also enhanced by glaring and dynamic advertisements in various forms. Rich and shiny stars endorse products and enthusiastic fans support them by making a generous purchase. But since when has all this materialistic lifestyle started? Are the celebrities the fashion setter?’ If we agree, it would be ridiculous. Without the abundant consumer goods in modern society, there would not have been so many entertainments or fashions. Therefore, the real fashion setter should be the high production efficiency which encourages people to pursue luxuries. Fashion trend as an effective marketing strategy has to be dynamic, otherwise there would be less demand for mass production.
 
In addition to the previous point, regardless of the high popularity of some consumer goods or world known brands, some mature minded people show no tendency of copying popular fashion. They have developed their own personal tastes for clothes and other consumer commodities and their preference tends to be less precarious. Further they are realistic and are more likely to make reasonable and sagacious decision when shopping than youngsters.
 
In conclusion, I believe that young people are prone to copy popular fashion trends in many aspects of life due to the ample supply of consumer goods and the promotion of advertisements while there are some mature people holding their personal way of life and ignoring the vogue vanity. In that case, the preponderance of the judicious consumers are just follow their internal desire to make a choice but not follow the superficial fad. Thus the tendency for human beings to copy one another cannot be shown in the popularity of fashion in clothes and other consumer goods.

其实，也是多余的。因为说再多，还是永远有人会被骗。这不，今年1月，又有一位考生，被这个大鹰给骗了，骗子的说辞都是一套一套的。

Generally speaking, men’s overweight percentage was always much higher than that of women in any given year (1980, 1990, 2000 or 2010).

In terms of overweigh rates in men, it started from 47% in 1980 and climbed to 53% ten years later. And then, there was an even sharper rise by 15% in 2000. That was the highest point of men’s overweight proportion: 68%. In other words, two out of three men in Australia could be categorized as an obese person. During the final ten years of the period, i.e. from 2000 to 2010, the percentage dropped minimally to 65%.

Turning to females, they underwent a similar growth pattern throughout the period, though at a much lower level. It began from just 27% in 1980, and it jumped dramatically to 36% in 1990 and continued to rise equally drastically to almost 50% in 2000. Interestingly, this highest point of 49% was kept unchanged ten years later.

To conclude, obesity was a constant problem facing Australian men and women during the 1980-2010 period. While both genders went through a similar trend of growth, a much higher percentage of males were troubled with this physical disease.

Some people think all law breakers should be put into prison.Others believe that there are better alternatives.Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It seems to be a common sense that anyone who breaks the law deserve punishments, especially in a prison. However, imprisonment is not the only way to teach delinquents the righteous way of life. In this essay, these two types of views would be examined. 
Some people believe that putting lawbreakers into prison is an effective way of treating crimers and be beneficial to the society as a whole. In the first place, by depriving the delinquents their freedom, imprisonment imposes severe enough punishments upon them, and makes the victims and their families feel better, knowing that the bad guys have received what they properly deserve. In addition, from the perspective of social welfare, putting those who act against society into shackles sets an example and deters followers and prevents further damages that might have occurred if such punishments are not in place. 
Although there seems to be many positive aspects that associate with imprisonment as a proper punishment, alternatives to such measure may sounds equally efficient and attractive. One of such alternatives is putting minor offenders to the labors of social services. By helping others and contributing to society, offenders would learn the positive cycle between services and payback, thus correcting their mindset of one man’s loss is another’s gain. Another more constructive advice suggests integrating some type of practical training into social service labors, so that offenders would be able to work as average people after serving their labor terms. After all, most of them break the law because they do not know other ways of earning a living. 
Both ideas of punishments have their reasonable bases. In my opinion, however, I think imprisonment is necessary to restrict and put off some major offenses, like murder, hijacking of planes, rape. While for some minor offense, like burglary , pocket picketing and privacy, alternative ways that focusing on educating the offenders and giving them a second chance ,shall prevail. 

A much debated issue these days is whether young people should pursue their study further abroad.  Personally, I believe advantages of studying abroad outweigh its disadvantages.

Firstly, it is widely accepted that studying abroad plays a critical role in allowing young students to broaden their horizons.  More specifically, various kinds of cultures and customs abroad enable youths to open their eyes and hearts to novelties they have never experienced before.   Furthermore, overseas students have found themselves more independent due to improving a variety of skills, such as communication skills, critical thinking skills and time-management skills.  All these skills practiced and perfected by group assignments and in-class discussions consolidate their presentation and interaction abilities.  In fact, these youths’ future successes are built upon these invaluable treasures.  

Admittedly, some drawbacks do exist when it comes to overseas study, such as, due to the language barrier, being difficult to make a living and struggling in social activities.  For instance, local employers are not willing to hire international students, because they cannot speak fluent English.  Thus, numerous students choose to go back to their country after graduation.  Nevertheless, these problems can be overcome as long as overseas students are willing to learn and hang in there.  As a matter of fact, a great number of international students have successfully proven themselves in terms of coping with this obstacle and have set up their family overseas.

In conclusion, young students should be encouraged to further their study abroad, because it will bring them much more merits than demerits.  Although there are inevitable difficulties for them in doing so, such as the language barrier, young students will surely conquer those problems if they are of great determination.  

Life is unpredictable and full of surprises. Some people like to live in the moment and not think about the future, while others like to plan ahead. With an increasing number of people suffering from mental illnesses like depression and anxiety, living in the moment can help alleviate stress and contribute to increased level of happiness. Although I agree that focusing on the present has its psychological benefits, I tend to place more importance on planning for the future for a variety of reasons.

First, planning for the future is a form of insurance. Just like automobile and medical insurance, when an individual plans ahead, he/she can withstand unpredictable life events by being more prepared. A common example would be having a savings account or planning for retirement. Moreover, planning can sometimes reap benefits like lower prices and deals. For instance, airline ticket prices go up dramatically within three weeks of departure date. When one plans ahead and purchases the ticket ahead of time, they can save a significant amount of money. Also, they can enjoy a peace of mind while giving themselves more time to plan the rest of their travels.

Secondly, planning for the future is about focusing on sustainability. With rapid technological transformations, it may seem like everything is transient and impermanent. If we do our research and find out which things are on their way becoming obsolete, we can make choices based on long-term sustainability. For example, in recent years, a number of countries have announced that they will stop manufacturing cars powered by fossil fuel. As an informed consumer, we should know that spending more money on electric cars now will save the planet and our wallet in the future.

Finally, planning for the future can be a source of motivation. By establishing short and long-term goals, we can lead our lives with a sense of purpose and accomplish goals feeling more confident and motivated. Comparatively, if we only focus on the present, we may feel less anxiety about what to come, but we won’t be able to achieve nearly as much because we wouldn’t make the best use of our time. Our vision would be more limited.

In conclusion, planning for the future has a multitude of advantages that can ameliorate our lives. As much as we should savor every present moment, having a planned future can ensure that we live with intention and make the most informed, future-proof choices.

To get a license, first a person must pay a visit to a license centre to complete an application and take an eye test. Only those who pass the eye test would be eligible to get a driving license.

Once a person has passed the eye test, a fee must be paid before one is allowed to take the written test. It is worth noticing that the fee only covers three sittings of the written test, should someone fail the written test three times in a roll, then he or she would have to pay the fee again to gain another three sittings for the written test.

If a person passes the written test, he or she will be permitted to take the driving test, and a license will be granted upon successful pass of the driving test. Should someone fail in the driving test, then the person would have to pay the fee again and need to take and pass the written test for an another time before he or she is allowed to partake the driving test again.
