The two images illustrate floorplans of single and double occupancy dormitory rooms at a university in Australia.

At first glance, it is evident that room for two people is priced at $350 each week whilst room for one person costs $200, which translates to a weekly saving of $25 if a student elects to share a room with a roommate. Moreover, it can be seen that although both room plans feature the same length of six metres, double room comes with a width of four metres, which is 1.5 metres wider than single room, so that it results in a larger total area but smaller area per person.

Upon further observation, it is clear that both room plans boast facilities like an enclosed bathroom, a microwave, a sink, a stove, and a television on wall. Regardless of room plan, all students will each get a study desk, a cupboard a bookshelf and a bed that is placed next to a window exclusively for their own use. Whilst all the appliances and furniture are placed against the walls in student room for one person, a table and two chairs is available in the entry of the double room for students to share and two cupboards and a bookshelf are located in the middle of the room to separate the desks and beds of each student and thus offer privacy to some extent.

Overall, both room types feature roughly the same amenity, and students who choose room for one person will enjoy larger personal space and complete privacy at a cost of 25 dollars more per week.
